Terms & Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your wedding date. If you cancel for any reason, this will not be returned to you, however if I am forced to cancel, you will be given notice and refunded in full. By paying the £100 deposit and securing the date you are accepting the below terms and conditions.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of creation, if you choose to proceed with your booking after this period the price may differ as prices are subject to change.
If you book with us, then cancel your wedding and re-schedule it for a later date, we will try our best to accommodate your new date but can’t guarantee we shall have availability, terms and conditions still apply for the booking deposit of £100 being non returnable. You cannot gift your booking deposit/wedding cake payment to someone else, they are strictly for the couple who first booked.
All cakes are made in a kitchen that works with dairy products, gluten, eggs and nuts. Even if your chosen recipe does not include the allergen, traces of these products are possible. I do cater for some allergies (lactose intolerant and egg free) if a severe allergy is known it is your responsibility to inform your guest not to eat the cake due to the possibility of trace allergens.
The final balance is due no later than 4 weeks before the wedding date. If you choose to cancel after this has been paid it, you will not be refunded.
Any amendments to the agreed cake design will be at my discretion and subject to additional costs. The cut off for any changes is 6 weeks before the wedding, after which your design will not be possible to alter.
Depending on your chosen design, cakes may include non-edible decorations. Both you and the venue will be informed in detail of these and it is your responsibility to remove them before the cake is served.
If you have any concerns regarding the cake please notify me before delivery and I will do everything I can to solve the problem. Once the cake is cut and served, this will signify your acceptance that the cake was fit for purpose and no compensation will be given. If the cake itself is not fit for purpose it will need to be returned to us within 24 hours for us to examine and take the according steps.
If you add any decorations to the cake after my delivery and setup I cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake. Fresh flowers are not included in the price of any wedding cake design. If a wedding cake is to be dressed with fresh flowers these are to be provided by your florist. Please note some flowers are not suitable for cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to your cake from fresh flowers.
Once the cake is set up at the venue, I am not responsible if someone else moves it or places it in an unsuitable location. I will of course set up in its final location whenever possible and ensure that everything is exactly as it should. If the cake is damaged after I leave, it will be the responsibility of the venue.
The responsibility of the presentation of cut slices of cake is with whomever cuts the cakes whether that's the venue or caterers.
If you are picking the cake up from me I cannot be held responsible for any damage once it leaves my premises. Every cake is professionally assembled and will be absolutely fine if driven carefully on a flat surface we do advise a car floor such as a foot well or boot. Our cakes are not suitable for being stored in the fridge.
All cakes are baked and decorated with the intention of being eaten on the wedding day. After this date, it is at your own risk that you eat any leftovers as I cannot guarantee or control storage conditions which affect shelf life. Fruit cake is the only exception and will keep for several months in a cool dry place (not refrigerated).
If hiring one of my many cake stands, a £100 holding deposit in cash or cheque is required to be held on file. Once you have safely returned the stand back to me in the same clean and undamaged condition it left me, and within 3 days after the wedding, I will return the holding deposit. If you do not return the stand within 3 days, I reserve the right to withhold the full deposit.
Payments for classes are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to attend, you may nominate someone else to take your place. If I am forced to cancel the class a full refund will be given.
In the unlikely event I become ill or am affected by circumstances beyond my control that mean I can no longer make your wedding cake, I will of course endeavour to find a cake maker who can replace me. A full refund will be given.
